Honouring Terry’s Legacy – Fultonvale Terry Fox Run

Happy Sunday!

This past Thursday, Fultonvale had the incredible honour of welcoming Fred Fox, brother of Canadian hero Terry Fox, to kick off our annual Terry Fox Run and Walk. Fred’s inspiring message reminded us of this year’s Terry Fox Foundation theme—“Finish It.” He shared how Terry never quit, always gave his all, and encouraged Canadians to finish the mission he began.

On a beautiful fall afternoon, our students, staff, and community members ran and walked our trails with energy and pride, showing what it truly means to “Try Like Terry.” Over the past 21 years, Fultonvale has already raised more than $100,000 for cancer research—a remarkable achievement made possible by our amazing school community.

We’re not finished yet! Donations will continue to be collected online until September 30 at schools.terryfox.ca/FultonvaleElementaryJunior.

Thank you to everyone who joined us, supported the event, and helped keep Terry’s dream alive. Together, we will Finish It.

OPPORTUNITY

COSC Representative

We’re looking for a COSC Representative!

Fultonvale School Council is seeking a parent volunteer to represent our school at the Council of School Councils (COSC) meetings.

COSC meets the first Wednesday of every month.
The first meeting is October 1, 2025, with a Meet & Greet at 5:15 pm and the meeting starting at 6:30 pm.
As our rep, you’ll attend COSC meetings and then share a short summary at our Fultonvale School Council meetings.

This is a great way to get involved, stay connected, and help strengthen communication between our school and the division!

Ordering School Pictures

If your Picture Day form gets misplaced, all you need to do is go to the offspringstudios.ca webpage. The code to enter is your child's student id number.

Hot Lunch

Just a friendly reminder to all parents that Hot Lunch is now up and running.

If you do not already have an account or are new to the school, please register your child (ren) at www.healthyhunger.ca. Click on "register account" and follow instructions. Please remember to put your child under their attending classroom (ex. 2J, 6B, 71, etc..). Once registered you can begin ordering. Families with existing accounts just need to re-register students into their classrooms.

Lunch dates will be reminded to all families through weekly Firewire and Face book posts so stay up to date by reading and connecting on social media.

Thank you to all families that support this awesome fundraiser. The kids really enjoy it and we love to make them smile.

If you have any questions, concerns or would like volunteer and help with lunch days please contact the coordinator Carrie at ceckersley78@gmail.com.

With the uncertainty of an upcoming strike we are currently carrying on with lunch dates until further notice. If you have ordered lunches after Monday, October 6, and a strike does happen Healthy Hunger will refund your account as soon as they can. Please be patient with them as Healthy Hunger runs throughout all of Alberta and refunds may take some time. As we know more, we will inform you as soon as possible.
